Gamper & Dadoni are bringing Saxy back #DJDIARYENTRY/THREE

Dear #DJDIARY #Gamper&Dadoni Wednesday, 18 June, 2014

Their sound is housy house and it’s never short of the incorporation of some form of classical instrumentation. Quite often you’ll hear the majestic integration of the sax, a sound so refreshing that the best way to describe it is SAXY.

The duo behind this groove are German based DJ’s and producers, Max Gamper and Daniel Hoeft, better known as Gamper and Dadoni.

This is #DJDIARYENTRY/THREE

The boys have known each other for 10 years but only recently join forces to create Gamper and Dadoni.

“We formed Gamper and Dadoni in February 2013 after a long way searching for the perfect sound.”

The boys describe this sound as “housy house” a genre that doesn’t quite exist yet.

Distinct to their sound are melodic characteristics infused with deep house or progressive house beats that are never short of a classical instrument.

“We always searched for a musical genre where we could include nearly every instrument, from piano to bass to strings to sax,” the boys describe.

“Classical music is the genre where all the music we listen to nowadays comes from.”

Both Max and Daniel play the piano, while Max also plays guitar. But the smooth sound of that saxophone, featured in many of their remixes and tracks comes from a saxophone player from their hometown, Hamburg, who will also be joining them on tour very soon.

If given the opportunity to sit in on studio time with any other producer, Daniel says he would choose Grammy- award winner, Dave Pensado, a legend in mixing techniques.

With Max tipping to sit in with film composer, Hans Zimmer, famous for those dramatic awe inspiring tempos from such films as Gladiator, The Dark Knight and Inception.

Their latest track “The Sun,” a remix of Parov Stelar’s original, was released only five days ago and is sure to be a European summer hit.

“This time we turned the original tune into an even more housy track that will be perfect for summer dance floors.”

Gamper and Dadoni have only been around for 1.5 years and their fresh, classically infused sound has already gained an impressive following.

They’ve had five million views on their Soundcloud page; hit number one of Hypermachine main charts twice and racked in millions of YouTube views.

The success hasn’t gone to their heads, making them feel they made the right decision.

“We turned our hobby into our work,” Gamper and Dadoni cheer.

“We finally found ‘House Music’ is our ‘Home’.”

Will we be seeing you boys in Australia sometime soon?

A: For sure, Australia would be an amazing place to be. We are looking forward to playing in your country someday :)
