Loulou Players: 10 Years of Deep House #DJDIARYENTRY/19

Dear #DJDIARY,

Loulou players has been on the deep house scene for over a decade, originally a duo combining the talents of Jérôme and Olivier Grégoire better known as Kolombo the pair eventually split.

The Belgium duo parted mutually for artistic reasons but still perform together. The remaining Loulou Player – Jérôme even laughs about it.

“We run LouLou Records together, and the funny thing is we play more and more together now for events like label nights. But this time as Kolombo and LouLou Players.”

They went their separate ways following the worldwide success of Kolombo as an individual artist. And Jerome is nothing but proud of his life-long friend.

“We are best friends...we started playing in small bars and restaurants. Some crazy times,” Jérôme laughs.

“We had some good success in Belgium and Europe and Olivier went to a higher level with his solo project. I’m just super proud of him, he deserves it a lot! He worked like hell to be where he is...Just respect!” Jérôme says.

“We receive heaps of demos. It takes a lot of time to listen to all of them but it’s really the way we want to work,” Jérôme describes.

The list of producers that you can expect to hear under Loulou Records is better than a Christmas list and an excellent list at that.

“Expect tracks from Vanilla Ace, Yam Nor, GIOM, Heston, Daniel Fernandes and LouLou Players, Miguel Campbell and Kolombo, Tough Love... Prepare yourself for some boooombs,” Jérôme says.

When the boys started Loulou Records they worked with vinyl eventually converting to digital for distribution reasons.

“We did this without any pressure just to release our tracks. We asked friends to do remixes and step by step we become quite a respectable label,” Jérôme smiles.
