With Drake in town for his very own tour, Drake 2015, and of course to headline Future Music Festival, what better way to get the ball rolling than with a bit of Drake trivia?
He will also be at Marquee Sydney this Saturday to host the Official Future Music Afterparty - sorry kiddies, online tickets are sold out to this ripper party!
In the meantime here are five facts about Drake that we only caught light of recently:
5. He totally rocked glasses!
It’s a rare sight to catch Drake wearing reading glasses, but when you do it’s totally worth it. Now that’s just cute!
4. He is in Age 4: Continental Drift!
He was one of many rappers to loan their voice to a character in Ice Age 4, which included voice acting by Esther Dean, Queen Latifah and Nicki Minaj. It was, and remains his first appearance in an animation. Ice Age 5 is scheduled for 2016 but it’s unknown whether Drake’s character, Ethan, will be returning. Fingers crossed he is...We loved that little guy!
3. He was in Dregrassi: The Next Generation!
Before we knew him as Drake, many of us recognised him as Jimmy Brooks from Degrassi. He starred in 139 episodes from 2001 -2009, playing the role of a basketball star who ends up paralysed after being shot by a classmate.
2. His 2nd album is his most successful to date!
Drake dropped his fourth and latest album earlier this month in surprising fashion, by quite literally releasing the 17-song album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late on February 12, 2015 with no prior announcement. It’s early days for album number four and his second album Take Care released in 2011 remains his most successful to date, with hit singles like: “Headlines”, “ Take Care”, “Make Me Proud” and “The Motto”.
1. HIis real name is not DRAKE!
Why do mononyms always fool us? Drake is actually called Aubrey Graham. Did not see that coming!
